Capitalism and Play

Capitalism does not encourage me to play. It encourages me to do what is useful. It wants me to engage in activities from which work and value can be extracted. Value that can be measured in monetary units.

Maybe capitalism does not encourage play because from play I might gain what capitalism is trying to sell me.

Joy. Lightness. Being.
